I joined today. I own a 2002 Frontier XE 4x4 4 door with a 4 inch lift. which I've owned since 2006. This is my first post. I need help finding where 2 vacuum lines go. They connect underneath the top intake plenum. The piping under the plenum runs front to back which snakes through the coolant piping and hoses.Go here for details to see what I've all done during this repair. MY 2002 NISSAN HAS GREMLINS . NOTE: I had 2 guys helping me so I was not the one who removed the top intake plenum and the doin't remember removing any vacuum lines.

Guys thanks for the quick replys. The sticker under the hood does not go into detail enough. Also my intake plenum doesn't have all the vacuum parts mounted on top as does this drawing. Is the drawing for a non CA model. How do I post pics on a thread/post. Thanks.

I'm guessing yours doesn't have an EGR. Some do and some don't. Mine doesn't. So you can ignore anything EGR related

You click on "insert Image" and upload. I'm on a PC so it may be diff if you're on a phone.

I think my vacuum leak is coming from the large hose on the new OEM idle contol valve in pic # 5. I had my Wife spray carb cleaner on that hose and the idle changed. The leak is really loud. I can here it from inside the truck. Also the truck won't run on idle

The small diameter vacuum pipe at each end looks as it it never has had any vacuum hoses on it. Are they maybe not used on the 2002 3.3 motor.

@TxDayTrader will know the answer to your question.
Whether his answer is correct or incorrect remains to be seen....but an answer nonetheless.

Nissan often has metal vacuum lines on engines that work on multiple applications (i.e. Federal vs California emissions, AT vs MT, etc.), so there may be metal vacuum lines on your engine that never had vacuum hoses to them. If they did (and as you eluded to) you will usually see a difference in color at the end of the metal tube where the rubber vacuum hose was installed.
